Sleeping Rooms

The hostel contains four dormitory-style rooms with bunk beds with a maximum capacity of 26.  Linens and security lockers are included.

  • 1 male-only dormitory (extra long bed available). Six beds.
  • 1 female-only dormitory. Six beds.
  • 2 co-ed dorms (one of which is handicapped-accessible).  14 beds.

Bathroom Facilities

One ADA compliant, coed bathroom is available on the first floor, including:

  • 3 private shower stalls with locking vestibules
  • 3 sinks and 3 private toilet stalls
  • Towels provided for all guests at no extra charge

One additional private, full bathroom is also available on the second floor for guests' use.

Common Areas

The upstairs living room contains all the comforts of home in a sociable atmosphere, including a fireplace, library, and computers with internet access. WIFI is free, a  voluntary donation is requested for the use of the house computers.   A fully equipped self-catering kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, and dining area is also available for guests' use.

Grounds

A large deck extends along the back side of the Hostel, which backs up to a forested hillside just over the ridge from some of Durango's most popular mountain-biking and hiking trails in Horse Gulch. The grounds include several garden areas featuring native and ornamental species, and the property is set back from the street to afford guests a quiet and relaxing experience only minutes from downtown Durango.  There is free parking on the premises with security lighting and a bike rack.

Manager

Born and raised in Durango and having travelled extensively, Candace Lemon is a hostel proprietor with experiential knowledge and appreciation of both the local scene and international travel.
